This checkerboard granny square afghan and matching pillow were literally years in the making. I can only crochet for just so long before my eyes cross! The afghan measures 48" x 60" and has a scalloped edge which took me several tries before I remembered how my grandmother taught me to do it many, many years ago! The squares are crocheted together rather than sewn, and all yarn ends are woven in so it doesn't look messy on the back. The shade of the light squares is cream, not white. The pillow is approximately 12" square and is backed with muslin.
