Dolls for playing or displaying.....
All these dolls are 16" tall, and all come with removable clothes. The hair is knotted into the head rather than sewn on, and the eyes are painted so there are no small beads to come off, although some of the clothes have buttons or ribbons so I don't recommend giving them to very small children who might be inclined to eat them. I will say that I recently came across two of these dolls that I made and sold about 10 years ago, and they still looked pretty much the same as they did when I made them so they do hold up really well. Unless stated otherwise in the description, all dolls and clothes are made with 100% cotton or poly/cotton broadcloth, stuffed with poly fiberfill, and the hair is acrylic yarn.
I call her the Moon Mother, and she is one of several ladies that I have created starting with a basic pattern by Julie McCulloch of Magic Threads. She features natural fur hair (I've been told it's Alpaca, but I'm not sure) and on her staff are glass beads and a stained glass moon custom made for me by local artist Rick Morgenstein of Rude Elegance. Her clothes are silk, velvet, and cotton, and are adorned with much glass beadwork. Her necklace is a real crystal.
